About the job

The Role

Digible is hiring a Senior Manager, Product Design to define what Product Design is at Digible. This is a player/coach role: roughly three-quarters of your time doing hands-on design across our pods as a shared design resource, and a quarter building the design function — managing and growing our Product Designer, and establishing our design principles, design ops, design system, design career ladder, and design job descriptions from first principles.

Above all, we're looking for an expert in designing data, analytics, and intelligence products: someone who takes dense performance data and makes it engaging, delightful, trustworthy, and AI-forward, so customers want to open it, understand it on their own, and act on it.

You'll be the most senior design voice in the company, partnering with product managers, engineers, agency leaders and leadership to make design a durable competitive advantage — in a company where reporting clarity, customer experience, operational excellence, data storytelling, and trust are the product. You'll lead AI transformation for the design practice, and you'll set the foundations (and the bar) that every future design hire builds on. You'll report to the VP of Product.

We're a small product org inside a profitable, bootstrapped company — nine years successful before the recent AI wave, and now in the middle of an AI transformation, reinventing how an established company operates and thrives in the AI era. Profitability and bootstrapping mean you'll work on real customer and business problems, not a search for product/market fit, with a direct line to an accessible leadership team. You'll use AI throughout your workflow to move faster and more effectively than a team our size normally could.

You'll Love This Job If You Love

Products with…

  • 📊 Data, Analytics & Intelligence: a portfolio where making data engaging, delightful, and trustworthy IS the product's competitive edge
  • 🏢 Internal Products, SaaS-Level Ambition: internal agency teams as primary users today — a portfolio ready to be elevated into innovative, SaaS-quality experiences as we evolve toward serving customers directly
  • ✨ AI: deciding what AI should surface, summarize, and say in front of a customer, and defining what AI-native design practice looks like for a whole company

Roles with…

  • ⚖️ Player/Coach Balance: staying hands-on in the craft while building the function and the team
  • 🏗️ Founding Scope: writing the design principles, design system, design ops, and design career ladder from page one

Organizations with…

  • 🚀 Small Teams: working with small teams that trade scale for agility & autonomy
  • 🏗️ Early Foundations: crafting the systems, rituals, and mindsets of a relatively new product org

Cultures with…

  • 📅 4-day Workweek: we work Mon–Thu, so every weekend is a long weekend
  • ⚖️ Modeled Balance: we know work is a part of life — boundaries are modeled by leadership

Businesses with…

  • 📈 Fast Growth: this isn't a turnaround — 371% three-year growth per the 2025 Inc. 5000 (No. 1,165)
  • 🥾 Bootstrapped Profitability: we control our own destiny, with no investor or burn pressure

What You'll Do

  • 🎨 Hands-On Design: carry real design work across pods as our shared, senior design resource (~75%)
  • 📊 Data & Intelligence Design: set the bar for how Digible presents data, analytics, and AI-generated intelligence to customers, so every report, dashboard, and insight is engaging, delightful, trustworthy, and AI-forward
  • 👥 Manage & Grow: coach and develop our Product Designer (~25% of your time, alongside function-building)
  • 🧠 Product Strategy & Roadmap Partner: partner with product managers on product strategy and roadmaps, bringing design's point of view on customer problems and experience to what we build and why, not just how it looks
  • 🔍 Customer Research Leader: lead how Digible runs customer research and discovery: interview practice, our customer advisory board, and feedback analysis and synthesis, so customer insight shapes decisions across pods
  • 🤝 Stakeholder Partnership: build relationships across pods and agency teams — internal stakeholders are design's customers and champions, not ticket-writers
  • 📐 Define the Practice: establish Digible's design principles, critique culture, quality standards, design career ladder, and design job descriptions — codifying what great taste means here so quality survives AI-speed production
  • 🧱 Build the Infrastructure: develop, lead, and iterate on our design system and design ops — grounded in best practices — so a small team ships like a big one
  • ✨ AI-Native Function: define what an AI-native design practice looks like, build it into how we work, and lead AI transformation for design at Digible
  • 📡 Design Thought Leadership: be the company's design trend expert — educate the team and leadership on where design and AI are heading

How Success Will Be Measured

Business Metrics

  • Product CSAT: product design becomes a measurable driver of customer sentiment and satisfaction
  • Data Engagement: customers open, understand, and act on our data on their own, not only when an account manager walks them through it

Function Metrics

  • Design System Adoption: coverage and usage of the system across shipped product
  • Consistency & Quality: a coherent experience across pods, visible in audits and QA
  • Team Health & Growth: your designer's development, engagement, and output trajectory
  • Design Velocity: design is never the bottleneck — ops and process keep pace with eng

What You Should Have

Must Have

  • 6+ years of product design experience, including 2+ years managing or formally mentoring designers
  • A standout track record designing data, analytics, or intelligence products that customers find engaging and trustworthy: dashboards, reporting, insights, AI-generated summaries, or similar. This is the core of the role
  • Player/coach by choice: still excellent (and happy) doing hands-on design ~75% of the time
  • Built design foundations from scratch — principles, design system, ops, or critique culture from scratch — with the taste to define what "great" means
  • AI-forward design practice: hands-on with AI tools and opinionated about where they fit in the craft
  • Comfortable leading through ambiguity with minimal infrastructure and incomplete information

Preferred

  • Start-up to scale-up (50-200 people) experience
  • First-design-leader or founding-designer experience
  • Experience designing AI features customers rely on (summaries, recommendations, conversational interfaces) and the trust and explainability patterns around them

Bonus

  • Digital marketing domain knowledge
  • Real estate domain knowledge (ex: rentals, multifamily, single family, etc.)
