About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Portal Front-End Developer based in Switzerland.
We are seeking an experienced Front-End Developer to build a secure, user-friendly portal connected to a new e-commerce website experience. You will contribute to two key workstreams: a participant-facing portal for a structured 12-week brain health program and a lightweight administrative portal for user management. Working closely with backend developers, designers, and QA teams, you will translate approved designs into responsive, accessible, and reliable interfaces. The project follows an MVP approach, giving you the opportunity to influence implementation decisions and validate scope before development begins. This is a focused contract engagement with clearly defined deliverables and potential opportunities to contribute to a future development phase.
Accountabilities
•
User Portal Development (13 days)
•
Build front-end components for a 12-week brain health program, including weekly participant questionnaires.
•
Develop progress visualizations and graphs that update as participants complete their weekly questionnaires.
•
Implement functionality to unlock new program content and brain health tools progressively each week.
•
Build authentication, onboarding flows, and protected routes.
•
Develop questionnaire interfaces and program content screens.
•
Implement loading, validation, empty, and error states to ensure a smooth user experience.
•
Integrate front-end components with the Core API according to agreed API contracts.
•
Create automated tests covering critical participant journeys.
•
Admin Portal Development (2 days)
•
Reuse and adapt components from the user portal to build a lightweight administrative interface.
•
Implement basic operational user-management functionality, including the ability to block and unblock accounts.
•
Enable administrators to view relevant participant information.
•
Work within the defined scope, noting that editorial content management is handled separately through Payload CMS.
•
Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, and Deployment Support (3 days):
•
Collaborate with internal QA and external client teams to identify and resolve issues reported through ClickUp.
•
Address feedback from client user acceptance testing (UAT) and implement agreed improvements.
•
Support hosting and deployment activities for the live AWS environment, working alongside the backend developer who owns deployment.
Requirements
•
Strong practical experience developing front-end applications with React.
•
Experience with Next.js and TypeScript.
•
Proven ability to build authenticated, API-driven applications.
•
Experience creating responsive and accessible user interfaces.
•
Familiarity with charts, graphs, and data visualization.
•
Experience with front-end testing tools and frameworks, such as React Testing Library or Playwright.
•
Ability to identify technical risks early, communicate potential challenges, and contribute to practical mitigation strategies.
•
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with backend developers, designers, and QA teams.
•
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver within a short, clearly defined project timeline.
•
Comfortable working remotely and coordinating with a team operating on UK working hours.
Benefits
•
Fully remote contract opportunity within Europe.
•
Clearly defined engagement of 18 working days across a four-week period.
•
Full working days of 8 hours.
•
Opportunity to contribute to a user-facing digital health experience and administrative platform.
•
Collaboration with an experienced cross-functional team spanning design, backend development, and quality assurance.
•
Opportunity to review and provide input on final designs before development begins.
•
Potential for additional work during a second development phase, depending on project needs and performance.
•
Weekly internal project catch-ups, scheduled at a mutually convenient time.
