Coinbase Creative Studio operates at the intersection of art, culture, and technology. We create original, high-impact work that helps define the Coinbase brand and bring our products to life in differentiated ways. Our portfolio spans large-scale brand and product campaigns with month-long timelines, as well as high-priority assets that need to move from brief to delivery the same day. We partner closely with internal creatives, producers, strategists, marketers, and some of the world’s leading agencies and production partners to deliver work across channels and formats.
As Design Operations Manager, you will own and evolve the operating model that enables our design and motion teams to do their best work. You will sit at the center of our creative ecosystem, connecting people, processes, partners, and priorities across a diverse portfolio of work. You will own resource planning for full-time and contract design and motion talent, set resource and capacity strategy across the portfolio, and help scale the studio through a global ecosystem of agency and production partners. You will own the process for how work is planned, resourced, prioritized, reviewed, delivered, and reported, and lead selected creative initiatives across multiple workstreams. You will bring structure and clarity to a fast-moving environment while protecting the quality, timeliness, and ambition of the work. This role is ideal for an experienced design operations leader who has delivered creative work for world-class brands and products across a range of media, and who knows how to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
What You’ll Do
- Define and own the design and motion operating model for Creative Studio, including how work is planned, resourced, prioritized, reviewed, delivered, and reported.
- Set resource and capacity strategy across a broad portfolio of creative work, balancing business priorities, timelines, skill sets, and team health.
- Build and scale a global ecosystem of contract talent, agencies, and production partners, including sourcing, onboarding, engagement, and management of external partner performance.
- Establish operating rhythms, planning systems, and reporting that give senior stakeholders clear visibility into capacity, priorities, risks, and delivery.
- Lead high-impact design and motion initiatives across multiple workstreams, ensuring the work meets a high bar for quality, scope, timeliness, and brand expression.
- Partner with creatives, producers, strategists, marketers, and senior cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business priorities into executable creative plans.
- Identify bottlenecks and create scalable tools, processes, and solutions that increase the team’s speed, effectiveness, and ability to deliver exceptional work.
What We Look For in You
- Bachelor’s degree in design, business, communications, or a related field; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Significant experience leading design operations, creative operations, production management, or a related function within a high-performing creative organization.
- A track record of delivering creative work for world-class brands and products across multiple media, channels, and complex business contexts.
- Proven experience developing resource strategy and managing global networks of contract design and motion talent, agencies, and production partners.
- Exceptional organizational judgment, with the ability to set priorities, anticipate tradeoffs, and create clarity across complex and shifting workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, lead through ambiguity, and drive alignment across creative, marketing, production, and business teams.
- A high bar for creative quality, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to move work forward across in-house teams and agency partners through clear processes and influence.
