About the job

About The Company

At Corinex, we are driving the future of energy with cutting-edge Broadband over Power Line (BPL) technology. As a global leader in smart grid solutions, we enable utilities to enhance grid visibility, flexibility, and decarbonization, supporting the seamless integration of renewable energy, electric vehicles, and heat pumps into the power grid.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Corinex is the market leader in Europe, particularly in Spain, where our BPL solutions are deployed by major DSOs (Distribution System Operators) to improve grid operations. With successful implementations across global markets, our technologies accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, decentralized, and efficient energy infrastructure. Recognized as a key contributor to industry standards and a 2024 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winner, Corinex is shaping the future of smart energy.

About the Role

The Senior Technical Sales professional will play a pivotal role in driving the commercial success of Corinex’s smart grid and Broadband over Power Line (BPL) solutions. Acting as both a trusted business advisor and technical liaison, this role bridges customer engagement, solution design, and commercial execution to accelerate the adoption of Corinex technologies across utilities, energy providers, and EV infrastructure markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities for Corinex’s smart grid and communication solutions through proactive client meetings, presentations, and follow-up communications (email, calls, and in-person).
  • Lead technical engagement with utility and EV sector clients, guiding all stages of the sales cycle—from early concept and technical discovery to proposal, deployment, and ongoing customer support.
  • Present, demonstrate, and position Corinex’s BPL-based smart grid and energy connectivity solutions for power distribution, EV charging infrastructure, and data-driven utility operations.
  • Analyze customer requirements and collaborate with engineering teams to design optimized system architectures ensuring seamless data, device, and network integration.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate commercial proposals, quotes, tenders, bids, contracts, and agreements, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain account plans using Corinex’s sales methodology to ensure structured engagement, measurable growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate internal approvals for bids, pricing, and proposals with executive leadership (CEO and CFO) prior to submission to clients or prospects.
  • Support commercial operations by submitting confirmed sales orders and required documentation—including payment details and sales participation records—to the Accounting Department for processing.
  • Track and report on sales performance through timely updates to the CRM system, weekly activity reports, and detailed pipeline reviews summarizing opportunities, forecasts, and key market insights.
  • Participate actively in weekly sales and management meetings, contributing updates on customer engagement, proposal status, and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, R&D, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure technical validation, proposal accuracy, and effective project delivery.
  • Initiate and manage proof-of-concept (PoC) and pilot projects with utilities, charging operators, and technology partners to demonstrate Corinex’s value proposition.
  • Deliver technical training, onboarding, and documentation to customers and distributors, ensuring successful implementation and long-term system performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with grid operators, DSOs, utilities, EV charging providers, and energy ecosystem partners to expand Corinex’s market presence.
  • Stay current on industry trends, including smart grid modernization, AI-driven grid analytics, and emerging EV infrastructure standards to support thought leadership and product positioning.
  • Provide structured customer feedback to Corinex’s R&D and product management teams to influence product innovation and roadmap alignment.
  • Represent Corinex at industry conferences, trade fairs, and technical forums, showcasing the company’s leadership in smart grid communication technology.
  • Travel as required (approximately 60 days per year) for client meetings, demonstrations, pilot project support, and industry events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical sales, field engineering, or business development within the Smart Metering, EV, energy, or utility industry.
  • Strong understanding of smart grid, smart metering communication technologies, powerline communication (PLC/BPL), and EV charging infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with grid automation, energy data analytics, and AI-powered network management is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value and present to both engineering and executive audiences.
  • Strong ability to develop client relationships and manage complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; fluent in English, and Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Willingness to travel across Spain and Europe to support customers and partners.
