Some of the internet’s favourite Creators launch their merch with Makeship, and we’re building the team that finds the next ones.

You know which Creators are about to blow up before everyone else does. You have opinions on the latest streamer drama, the indie game everyone’s sleeping on, and whose merch is actually fire. What if you could get paid to be this chronically online?

As a Business Development Rep (Emerging Legend Hunter) at Makeship, you’ll be the first point of contact for the Creators and brands we want to work with, from gaming and anime to lifestyle and pets. You’ll find them, reach out, and start the conversations that bring them onto our platform, where they turn their communities into limited-edition products their Fans love.

This is a new team with real room to grow. Bring in enough great opportunities, and you’ll help open up the next Account Executive seat. Help shape how the team works and lift the people around you, and there’s a path into leadership.

🌟 What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Business Development Rep who’ll play a key role in helping us identify and partner with content Creators and brands that are ideal fits for Makeship’s core service offering, helping to drive our top-of-funnel business outreach.

• Someone who lives online. Gaming, streaming, YouTube, Discord, Twitch fandoms: you know the difference between a trend and a fad

• An adaptable and resilient self-starter who gets things done, and gets a little competitive about it

• A hunter’s instinct. You love digging for the opportunities others miss, and you take pride in bringing in the right ones

• Self-awareness. You take feedback well and actually use it

• Passion, curiosity, persistence, and comfort reaching out to people you’ve never met

• We care more about how you think than what’s on your resume

🚀 Your Key Responsibilities

• Scout content Creators, streamers, and entertainment brands that are a great fit for Makeship

• Reach out and start real relationships before they join our platform

• Drive our top-of-funnel outreach and build a pipeline of future partners, getting the best opportunities into the hands of our Account Executives

• Keep your pipeline organized in our CRM, and use automation to stay connected with Creators who aren’t quite ready yet

• Bring what you’re seeing in internet culture back to the team, so we stay ahead of what’s next

• Learn the playbook, run the plays, and tell us what to upgrade

🧠 What You Bring

• You’re an internet nerd (compliment). You care about Creators, characters, and the communities around them

• A year or two as a BDR or SDR, or experience reaching out to Creators and influencers for a brand or agency

• You own your work. When something’s on your plate, you see it through

• You’re a great listener and a clear communicator, in DMs, emails, and on calls

• You stay organized when you’re juggling a lot of conversations at once

• You get creative when the usual approach isn’t working

👀 Bonus

• Experience working in a CRM, and a knack for turning what’s working into something repeatable. Bonus bonus points if that CRM was Hubspot.

• Experience with social media or digital marketing, whether it’s for a brand, a Creator, or your own channel

• Experience in merch or anywhere else in the Creator economy

Salary Band: $55K CAD base salary per annum, plus a variable of $15K CAD, for an OTE of $70K CAD, and uncapped commission. Individual compensation will depend on unique skills, experience, and qualifications.
