About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Video Editor based in Brazil.
Join a remote, AI-focused environment where your professional video editing expertise will help shape the next generation of advanced AI models. In this role, you will evaluate both AI-generated and human-edited video content, ensuring it meets professional standards for creative quality and technical accuracy. You will apply your post-production knowledge to identify editing flaws, assess visual consistency, and evaluate storytelling, pacing, sound, and continuity. Your insights will contribute to the development of high-quality AI training data and more reliable video generation capabilities. Working as an independent contractor, you will enjoy a flexible schedule while collaborating on projects that require precision, critical thinking, and industry expertise. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced editor who combines creative judgment with a strong understanding of technical quality assurance.
Accountabilities
As a Video Editor and Quality Assurance Specialist, you will assess video content against professional production standards, provide structured feedback, and help improve the quality of AI-generated outputs. Your responsibilities will include:
•
Review human-edited and AI-generated videos for pacing, continuity, transitions, shot selection, storytelling, visual consistency, and overall production quality.
•
Conduct technical quality checks to identify frame-rate inconsistencies, dropped frames, codec issues, color mismatches, audio synchronization problems, compression artifacts, and export defects.
•
Compare AI-generated video outputs to identify visual artifacts, unnatural motion, temporal inconsistencies, continuity issues, and editing-quality problems.
•
Develop expert-level editing scenarios, reference examples, quality assessments, and structured feedback to support AI training projects.
•
Verify that video deliverables comply with creative briefs, editing instructions, style guides, technical specifications, and project-specific evaluation criteria.
•
Document editing errors clearly, explain their impact on the final output, and recommend appropriate corrections using professional editing terminology.
•
Support quality calibration by helping establish consistent evaluation standards across reviewers, editors, and video assessment workflows.
•
Ensure reviewed content meets professional expectations for visual storytelling, audiovisual coherence, technical delivery, and production quality.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring substantial professional video editing experience, advanced technical knowledge, and the ability to assess creative work objectively. The following qualifications are required or preferred:
•
At least 5 years of professional video editing experience in film, television, broadcast, advertising, commercial production, digital media, or a related post-production environment.
•
English proficiency at C1–C2 level, with the ability to understand complex guidelines and provide detailed, precise written evaluations in English.
•
Advanced proficiency in at least two non-linear editing systems, with Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve strongly preferred. Experience with Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro is also valuable.
•
Previous experience as a Lead Editor, Senior Video Editor, Post-Production Supervisor, QC Coordinator, or in a comparable quality-focused role.
•
A professional video demo reel or portfolio with a working, shareable link is mandatory for the selection process. The portfolio should demonstrate professional editing capabilities, ideally through commercial, broadcast, film, television, or advanced digital video projects.
•
Strong understanding of editing fundamentals, including pacing, continuity, shot selection, narrative structure, transitions, visual composition, and storytelling.
•
In-depth knowledge of technical video standards, including frame rates, resolutions, codecs, containers, aspect ratios, color spaces, export settings, and broadcast or digital delivery specifications.
•
Experience with color correction and grading, audio editing, synchronization, sound mixing, subtitles, captions, and motion graphics.
•
Ability to identify subtle editing defects, including jump cuts, continuity errors, dropped frames, audio drift, inconsistent color, compression artifacts, inappropriate transitions, and technical delivery issues.
•
Excellent analytical judgment and attention to detail, with the ability to explain why an edit meets or falls short of professional standards.
•
Experience reviewing other editors' work, providing structured feedback, conducting technical quality control, or supervising post-production workflows.
•
A reliable, self-directed working style and the ability to maintain consistent quality in a remote contractor environment across time zones.
•
Previous experience with AI-generated video evaluation, AI data training, video annotation, multimedia quality assurance, or rubric-based evaluation is a strong advantage.
Benefits
•
Hourly compensation: USD 45–50 per hour.
•
Remote work: Fully remote position, with Brazil listed as the hiring location.

Flexible schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week, with the freedom to choose your working hours and days, including weekends, provided work activity is maintained.

•
Meaningful impact: Apply your video editing expertise to AI training projects that help improve video understanding, editing, and generation capabilities.
•
Expert-level contribution: Help define quality standards and provide professional insights that influence the development of advanced AI systems.
