About the job

Symmetrio is recruiting a Technical Project Manager for our customer, a large global hospitality and food services organization. This consultant will serve as the client-side project manager for a multi-release initiative to replace a legacy meal plan management and analytics platform with a modern, web-based solution. Working alongside the third-party development partner’s project manager, the consultant will lead delivery across business, IT, and vendor teams from planning through production deployment.

Compensation: $140,000–$170,000 annually

Contract: Initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership
  • Manage end-to-end delivery from planning through deployment, owning scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Establish project governance and reporting, including monthly steering committee updates and executive communications.
  • Run change control and keep the project within its agreed scope.
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, internal IT teams, and the third-party development partner.
  • Partner with the vendor’s project manager and hold the vendor accountable to the statement of work, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, decision-making, and issue resolution, and ensure business needs stay aligned with technical delivery.
  • Secure time from subject matter experts who are balancing project work with their day jobs. Build a recurring meeting cadence, negotiate realistic commitments, and escalate conflicts early.
  • Agile Delivery Management
  • Coordinate sprint planning, backlog prioritization, sprint reviews and demos, release planning, and deployment activities with the product owner.
  • Manage user acceptance testing, including test scenarios, tester availability, defect triage, and sign-off.
  • Monitor milestones and confirm quality and readiness for production.
  • Data Migration and Integration
  • Lead coordination of data migration from the legacy platform, including trial loads, validation, and production cutover.
  • Coordinate integrations with enterprise systems such as master data, finance and budgeting, and consumer-facing applications, including technical contacts, access, and data-sharing requirements.
  • Change Management and Adoption
  • Develop communication, training, and rollout plans, including train-the-trainer sessions.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and organizational readiness among users accustomed to the existing system.
  • Support transition to operational support teams following implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project management experience leading enterprise software implementations, including projects where a third-party vendor built the solution and you managed from the client side.
  • Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Proven success managing cross-functional teams, vendors, integrations, and data migration.
  • Experience leading UAT and presenting to steering committees and executives.
  • Ability to influence and keep teams on schedule without direct authority.

  • Experience with analytics, reporting, or enterprise business applications.
  • Experience managing large-scale digital transformation or legacy replacement initiatives.
  • Experience in hospitality, food service, higher education, retail, or POS environments.
  • Experience with vendor SOW oversight, change control, or cloud hosting transitions.
