About the job
UWorld’s Surgent CPE provides continuing professional education that helps CPAs and tax professionals remain current with changes in tax law and practice. An individual in this position serves as a subject matter expert, developing accurate, timely tax content for Surgent’s live seminars, webinars, self-study courses, and the Surgent Income Tax School (ITS). Keep all content in line with current legislation, IRS guidance, and inflation-adjusted figures, ensuring content is timely and reflects the latest developments.
- Surgent Income Tax School: Update ITS courses and practice manual, including review questions, final exam questions, answer explanations, and practical learning activities such as tax return preparation exercises. Write new content as needed to reflect tax law changes and current topics. Recalculate quantitative questions for inflation adjustments, including correct answers and explanations.
- Monitoring Tax Developments : Review legislation, IRS guidance, case law, and industry developments each day. Identify topics that call for new or revised content.
- CPE Q&A: Provide timely, well-informed answers to technical tax questions from practicing CPAs and other professionals.
