About the job

Role Overview

The CEO’s Right Hand (TCRH) is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our remote accounting team. Based in Latin America, this role supports TCRH’s U.S. based client portfolio across a variety of industries, owning the work from transaction processing through month end close under the direction of an Accounting Manager. You are accountable for the quality of what you hand off: you review your own work through a defined close process and deliver it complete, reconciled and ready for review.

This position is ideal for an experienced accountant who is fluent in English, works independently, communicates proactively, and is looking for a long term role with a firm that invests in career growth and promotes from within. You will work alongside our controllers and fractional CFOs, with a defined path from Staff Accountant to Senior Staff Accountant and Accounting Manager.

Core Responsibilities

Transactions, Reconciliations and Close (55%)

  • Process day to day transactions in QuickBooks Online, including data entry, bank feed categorization and vendor bills coded against invoices and approvals
  • Reconcile bank, credit card and balance sheet accounts monthly; investigate differences and escalate those that need review
  • Record recurring accruals, prepaid releases, payroll and standard journal entries on schedule, each documented with supporting detail
  • Allocate revenue and expenses to classes, jobs or projects (job costing) under each client’s policy
  • Manage activity in client expense management platforms such as Ramp: receipts, coding, approvals and sync to the general ledger
  • Maintain subsidiary schedules (prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, loans and deferred revenue) and tie them to the general ledger each month
  • Apply customer payments only against a remittance or written instruction; hold and escalate unsupported items
  • Complete client specific work such as invoicing, collections follow up, billable expense tracking and KPI inputs for management reporting

Review and Analysis (15%)

  • Independently review the books through a defined review process before submitting work, resolving negative balances, uncategorized items, postings to parent accounts and misclassified revenue
  • Analyze results, identify trends and unusual movements, and flag them so the review is focused
  • Report close status accurately, confirming reconciliations tie and accruals are recorded, and list open items in each handoff

Client Communication and Escalation (15%)

  • Acknowledge client messages within 4 business hours and remain readily available to the team throughout the workday
  • Escalate blockers the same business day, with full context and a recommended next step
  • Follow up proactively with Accounting Managers and teammates; no discrepancy is too small to raise
  • Work within the scope of each engagement and the client’s instructions; ask before acting outside them

Process, Tools and AI (15%)

  • Work within TCRH’s delivery workflow and keep each client’s SOP and task list current
  • Use approved AI tools responsibly within TCRH’s framework, verifying all output against source documents
  • Record time accurately and daily against each engagement, and obtain approval before exceeding budgeted hours
  • Suggest process improvements once you know the workflow well

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of accrual basis month end close experience across multiple clients, or 5+ years of equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO ProAdvisor certification a plus)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong command of accrual accounting, including accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue, fixed assets and reversals
  • End-to-end ownership of bank, credit card and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Working understanding of revenue recognition and how to book simple cases (advanced cases will be trained)
  • Payroll experience a plus but not required; training provided
  • Exposure to Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, ADP, Bill.com http://Bill.com or Expensify a plus; training provided
  • Openness to using AI tools in the accounting workflow
  • C1/C2 english level required

Core Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to complete supporting documentation for every transaction, reconciliation and journal entry
  • Ability to manage a full load averaging 6 to 8 client engagements, reached through a structured, phased onboarding
  • Ownership of your work and accurate, honest reporting of its status
  • Comfort following written processes and checklists closely in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • Proactive about following up, giving early notice when something will slip, and asking thoughtful questions
  • Openness to frequent feedback, applying it without taking it personally
  • Organized and self managed in a remote environment, handling deadlines and task lists without reminders
  • Availability for 40 hours a week on U.S. business hours, with core hours of 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time

Benefits

  • Promotion from within culture with structured career progression
  • Professional development including QBO ProAdvisor certification support and training in responsible AI use
  • Exposure to complex engagements and to U.S. business owners and finance leaders
  • 15 days of PTO plus U.S. holidays
  • Salary $2,500 per month
