About the job
This is Engineering at Lattice
Lattice’s Engineering team is continuously working to better both our product and our craft. We use a modern, cutting-edge tech stack and love experimenting with new technologies. We strive for maintainable, robust, and performant code. We’re highly collaborative and continuously iterative, and work closely with designers and product managers. We prioritize not only great technical architecture but also an amazing product experience.
The Infrastructure Platform team focuses on the cloud services, infrastructure, and internal platforms that power Lattice’s products. We build reliable, scalable pathways that make it easier for product engineers to develop, deploy, operate, and troubleshoot their services.
What You Will Do
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure Platform team, you will work across a broad technical footprint, including AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes, distributed systems, observability, deployment tooling, and internal developer platforms.
You will use your prior experience to understand how systems and services interact, identify gaps or sources of friction, and build platform capabilities that improve reliability and developer productivity.
- Design, build, and operate AWS-based cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Create reusable internal platform capabilities that improve how engineers build, deploy, and operate services.
- Work across AWS, Kubernetes, IaC, CI/CD, observability, and distributed systems.
- Partner with product engineering to identify recurring needs and turn them into scalable platform solutions.
- Evaluate system interactions, identify risks or inefficiencies, and drive improvements.
- Improve reliability, performance, availability, and maintainability of production systems.
- Define and promote platform practices (SLOs, monitoring, incident response, operational readiness).
- Instrument, debug, and improve services and infrastructure (including TypeScript services).
- Lead technical initiatives from problem definition through delivery and adoption.
- Communicate tradeoffs, risks, and progress to engineering stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers on building reliable, scalable systems.
- Participate in on-call and incident response.
What You Will Bring to the Table
- 5+ years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Deep AWS experience in production environments.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and system design.
- Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, or shared services.
- Hands-on Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform a plus).
- Strong programming skills and ability to debug production systems (TypeScript a plus).
- Experience with CI/CD and automated deployment workflows.
- Experience with observability (metrics, logs, traces, alerting, SLOs).
- Ability to reason across complex systems and understand cross-component interactions.
- Experience leading technical initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset.
