About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer - UI/UX based in the United States.
Join a mission-driven engineering team developing advanced cybersecurity solutions that help protect critical infrastructure from evolving digital threats. In this senior engineering role, you will build and maintain intuitive web applications, robust APIs, and client SDKs that help security professionals identify and understand exploitable software vulnerabilities. You will work across frontend development, API architecture, and developer tooling, contributing throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle. Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and backend engineers, you will translate complex technical data into clear, accessible user experiences. You will also help ensure that APIs and SDKs remain reliable, secure, and compatible as the platform evolves. This remote-first opportunity is ideal for an experienced engineer who values technical ownership, thoughtful collaboration, and meaningful real-world impact.
Accountabilities
As a senior member of the engineering team, you will take ownership of production-ready features and help improve the performance, reliability, and usability of the platform. Your responsibilities will include:
•
Design, develop, test, and deploy features across a React and TypeScript frontend and the supporting GraphQL and gRPC APIs.
•
Lead feature development from initial scoping and design through implementation, release, and production troubleshooting.
•
Design and evolve GraphQL schemas and Protocol Buffers/gRPC contracts, maintaining appropriate versioning and backward compatibility for existing customers and integrations.
•
Build and maintain client SDKs in Python, TypeScript, and Go, including code generation pipelines, semantic versioning, and automated release processes.
•
Define clear API and integration contracts with backend teams, primarily working with Go-based services.
•
Collaborate with Product and Design teams to translate customer needs into practical, user-focused technical solutions.
•
Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and observability across the areas you own.
•
Write secure, maintainable, well-tested code and provide constructive code reviews that strengthen engineering quality.
•
Take responsibility for the production code you deliver, including diagnosing issues and improving the reliability of customer-facing functionality.
Requirements
The ideal candidate combines strong frontend engineering expertise with hands-on experience designing APIs and maintaining developer-facing tools. You should be comfortable taking ownership of complex technical work and collaborating across disciplines. Required qualifications include:
•
At least 5 years of professional experience building production web applications and their supporting APIs, managing work from concept to delivery in collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering teams. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
•
Strong proficiency in React, including hooks, Context, lazy loading, and large component architectures.
•
Solid TypeScript experience and familiarity with modern frontend tooling, including testing frameworks, state management solutions, and build tools.
•
Experience with GraphQL, including Apollo Client and Apollo Server on Node.js.
•
Experience working with gRPC and Protocol Buffers, at minimum consuming gRPC APIs; service design experience is an advantage.
•
Practical knowledge of API design, versioning, and schema evolution.
•
Experience building and maintaining client SDKs across multiple programming languages, such as Python, TypeScript, and Go, including code generation, semantic versioning, and release automation.
•
Familiarity with authentication and authorization flows using Auth0, OAuth 2.0, and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
Additional experience that would be advantageous includes
•
Building data-intensive user interfaces featuring grids, charts, virtualization, or complex data visualizations.
•
Developing shared UI component libraries or design systems.
•
Working with PostgreSQL, including query patterns and data modeling.
•
Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Run and Google Cloud Storage.
•
Knowledge of Protocol Buffers schema design and tooling such as Buf.
•
Familiarity with OpenTelemetry, GitLab CI/CD, feature flag platforms such as OpenFeature, and Terraform.
•
Experience in cybersecurity, operational technology (OT), or industrial control systems (ICS), or knowledge of software bills of materials (SBOMs), including CycloneDX, SPDX, and CVE concepts.
•
Responsible use of AI-assisted development tools and experience leading technical initiatives or improving engineering practices across teams.
Benefits
•
Annual salary of $165,000 .
•
Competitive equity package.
•
Comprehensive benefits plan.
•
Remote-first working environment.
