About the job

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build and maintain our backend services and take ownership of the application’s production environment. You’ll ensure that APIs, databases, background jobs, and integrations operate reliably, while helping the team deliver changes safely.

You’ll work primarily with TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js server components and route handlers, oRPC, Zod, PostgreSQL, Prisma, and Better Auth. Our application runs on Google Cloud Run, with Cloud SQL and Cloud Tasks supporting database and background processing.

Job Description

  • Own production application operations, including runtime configuration, feature flags, health checks, performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain APIs, shared business logic, and database queries within our existing monorepo architecture.
  • Plan and validate database migrations, investigate data integrity issues, and develop safe, auditable recovery procedures.
  • Maintain reliable payment, email, storage, AI, and electronic signature integrations, including webhook handling, retries, and reconciliation.
  • Enforce organization and role permissions, protect sensitive records, and maintain audit coverage for privileged actions.
  • Lead application incident diagnosis and remediation, working with DevOps on infrastructure issues, release readiness, and recovery.
  • Write meaningful API, authorization, integration, and unit tests; review code and mentor other engineers.
  • Keep operational runbooks and architectural documentation current.

Requirements

  • Typically 6+ years of backend engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
  • Strong production experience with TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and API design.
  • Experience operating a SaaS application, diagnosing incidents, and improving reliability.
  • Sound judgment around transactions, concurrency, idempotency, schema migrations, and data recovery.
  • Experience with authentication, authorization, multi-tenant systems, and secure handling of sensitive data.
  • Familiarity with GCP or comparable managed cloud infrastructure.

Nice to Have

Prisma or Drizzle, oRPC, Better Auth, Stripe Connect, background task queues, AI integrations, and pnpm/Turborepo monorepos.

Success in this role means dependable backend services, understood production behavior, safe database changes, and effective incident recovery.

Benefits

In addition to a market competitive compensation, we have a reward philosophy that expand beyond this.

  • Fully remote with office optional. You decide when you would like to work from home and when from the office.
  • Flexible timings. You decide your work scheduled.
  • Market competitive compensation (in $).
  • Insane learning and growth
