About the job

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director of Sales based in the United States.

This is a senior sales leadership opportunity to drive regional growth and shape enterprise sales strategy in the rapidly evolving cloud networking and infrastructure technology market.

As the business leader for your region, you will own sales performance end to end, translating broader business objectives into actionable plans that accelerate bookings, revenue, and profitability.

You will lead a high-performing sales organization, strengthen pipeline development, improve forecast accuracy, and establish a disciplined approach to opportunity management and execution.

Working directly with sellers, you will guide complex enterprise deals, refine competitive positioning, and engage senior decision-makers to increase win rates and build lasting customer relationships.

You will also collaborate with channel, cloud, and alliance partners to expand market reach and create new co-selling opportunities.

Through close partnership with Marketing, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Finance, and Product teams, you will align regional execution with customer needs and business priorities.

This role is ideal for a strategic, commercially minded leader who combines operational rigor, executive presence, and a proven ability to build scalable enterprise sales teams.

Own the regional sales business, including strategy, execution, bookings, revenue, and overall performance, with responsibility for consistently achieving and exceeding targets.

•

Translate organizational objectives into a clear regional operating plan, defining territory coverage, sales priorities, resource allocation, and accountability.

•

Identify growth opportunities, execution risks, and resource gaps early, taking decisive action to strengthen regional performance.

•

Maintain accurate, predictable sales forecasts and provide clear, timely visibility into pipeline health, deal progression, and revenue expectations for executive leadership.

•

Establish rigorous sales operating practices, including CRM hygiene, pipeline reviews, opportunity inspection, forecasting discipline, and accountability across the sales organization.

•

Work directly with sales representatives and leaders on strategic opportunities, supporting deal strategy, competitive positioning, executive engagement, and negotiation.

•

Lead complex, high-value enterprise pursuits to improve win rates, accelerate sales cycles, and maximize revenue outcomes.

•

Structure and negotiate commercial agreements that deliver meaningful customer value while protecting margins, optimizing pricing, and supporting long-term business objectives.

•

Develop trusted relationships with senior customer and partner executives, aligning solutions with their business priorities and technology requirements.

•

Collaborate with channel, cloud, and alliance partners to expand regional coverage, strengthen strategic relationships, and accelerate joint selling initiatives.

•

Recruit, coach, and develop sales leaders, first-line managers, and individual contributors, building a scalable organization with a strong performance culture.

•

Set clear expectations, establish measurable goals, and hold teams accountable for results while fostering continuous improvement and professional development.

•

Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales Engineering, Customer Success, Finance, and Product to coordinate regional initiatives and deliver business outcomes.

Requirements

•

At least 12 years of enterprise technology sales experience, including 5 or more years leading sales teams and first-line managers.

•

Proven success consistently meeting or exceeding regional sales quotas in a high-growth B2B software, SaaS, or infrastructure technology environment.

•

Demonstrated experience selling complex solutions to large enterprise customers involving multiple stakeholders, lengthy sales cycles, and strategic business decisions.

•

Strong track record of building and executing regional sales strategies that drive pipeline growth, bookings, revenue, and profitability.

•

Experience delivering accurate, predictable forecasts and managing a disciplined sales operating cadence across a sales organization.

•

Advanced capabilities in deal strategy, commercial structuring, negotiation, and pricing, with a focus on customer value, margins, and long-term business outcomes.

•

Established relationships with C-level executives and senior technology decision-makers.

•

Proficiency with Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform and familiarity with structured enterprise sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, or Challenger.

•

Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to motivate teams and influence senior executives.

•

Strategic thinking, analytical problem-solving, and operational discipline, combined with the ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.

•

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

•

Ability to work remotely from the advertised location, with the position specifically listed for Illinois.
