About the Role
We are seeking experienced Cargo Surveyors and Condition Assessment Specialists to contribute their technical expertise to an AI training and evaluation project focused on cargo logistics, transportation, and compliance.
In this role, you will review shipment documentation, assess cargo conditions, evaluate container integrity and securing arrangements, and analyze evidence related to cargo damage and potential losses. You will work with photographic records, temperature logs, inspection reports, and marine cargo documentation to produce detailed, evidence-based findings that reflect professional surveying standards.
The ideal candidate has at least 7 years of experience in cargo surveying, particularly in refrigerated shipments, containerized cargo, cargo securing, or related inspection disciplines. Previous AI experience is not required; your industry expertise and professional judgment are what matter most.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate refrigerated and temperature-controlled cargo documentation, including reefer temperature logs, condition records, and inspection reports.
- Analyze finished-vehicle and food transport evidence to assess cargo condition, damage causation, and potential losses.
- Conduct remote assessments of container integrity, cargo securing methods, and lashing arrangements using photographs and shipment documentation.
- Review hatch-cover inspection reports and marine cargo records to assess sealing, weatherproofing, and compliance with applicable safety standards.
- Identify inconsistencies, damage indicators, and potential risks within cargo inspection and transportation documentation.
- Prepare detailed surveyor findings, damage assessments, and causation explanations using professional reporting standards.
- Provide clear, evidence-based reasoning to support technical conclusions and damage attributions.
- Review and evaluate cargo-related documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant transportation standards.
- Deliver structured written feedback to support AI training and evaluation projects focused on cargo logistics and compliance.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience as a cargo surveyor or in a closely related cargo inspection and assessment role.
- Specialized experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Reefer and temperature-controlled cargo surveying
- Containerized cargo inspection
- Cargo securing and lashing practices
- Marine cargo surveying
- Finished-vehicle logistics inspection
- Food and perishable goods transport auditing
- Demonstrated ability to review and interpret photographs, inspection logs, damage reports, and shipment documentation.
- Strong understanding of cargo condition assessment, damage identification, and causation analysis.
- Experience preparing professional surveyor reports and documenting technical findings.
- Strong analytical judgment and attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical conclusions clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and deliver accurate assessments within project deadlines.
