About the job

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sales Manager - Oleochemical Industry based in Brazil.

As Sales Manager - Oleochemical Industry, you will lead the development of a strategic commercial presence in the Brazilian market for a globally established producer of oleochemical solutions. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to act as the first permanent commercial representative in Brazil, combining market intelligence, strategic planning, and hands-on business development. You will identify growth opportunities across industries such as personal care, cosmetics, home care, food ingredients, plastics, lubricants, and construction chemicals. Working directly with international leadership, you will build customer relationships, develop a strong sales pipeline, and negotiate commercial agreements. You will also provide valuable insights into local market dynamics, pricing, regulations, and competitive activity to guide regional strategy. Initially home-based, this role offers the opportunity to help establish a local operation and eventually lead a growing commercial team.

Accountabilities

•

Develop and implement a structured understanding of the Brazilian oleochemical market, identifying commercial opportunities and emerging industry trends.

•

Monitor local market pricing, regulatory developments, competitive activity, and customer requirements.

•

Prepare regular market intelligence reports and provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations to international headquarters.

•

Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers across personal care, cosmetics, home care, food ingredients, plastic processing, industrial lubricants, and construction chemicals.

•

Build and manage a qualified commercial pipeline, converting business opportunities into long-term customer relationships and supply agreements.

•

Conduct regular customer visits and develop strong relationships with technical, purchasing, and executive stakeholders.

•

Manage existing strategic accounts while identifying opportunities to expand business with major customers and local market leaders.

•

Lead commercial negotiations and contribute to pricing, sales planning, and long-term business development strategies for Brazil and the wider South American region.

•

Act as the local representative, maintaining regular communication and alignment with international management.

•

Support the establishment and expansion of the company's commercial operations in Brazil.

•

Progressively take responsibility for building and leading a local commercial team as the business grows.

Requirements

•

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Sciences, or a related discipline. A master's degree is preferred.

•

8–12 years of experience in B2B technical sales, business development, or key account management.

•

Experience in oleochemicals, specialty chemicals, personal care ingredients, or related chemical raw materials is strongly preferred.

•

Strong technical understanding of chemical products and their applications, with the ability to lead credible technical sales discussions.

•

Proven track record of developing new markets, acquiring customers, managing strategic accounts, and generating business growth.

•

Experience working within multinational organizations, ideally with exposure to regional or global reporting structures.

•

Ability to collaborate across cultures, international teams, and different time zones.

•

Strong market analysis and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market intelligence into actionable commercial plans.

•

Entrepreneurial mindset, high autonomy, and the ability to establish business operations and commercial relationships from the ground up.

•

Excellent negotiation, communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.

•

Native-level Portuguese proficiency and advanced English skills for regular communication with international headquarters.

•

Spanish proficiency is considered a strong advantage.

•

Willingness to travel regularly for customer meetings and business development activities.

Benefits

•

Full-time employment with a fully remote, home-based arrangement in Brazil during the initial years.

•

Opportunity to become the first permanent commercial representative in a strategically important market.

•

Direct exposure to international leadership and participation in global business development strategy.

•

Significant autonomy and ownership in developing the Brazilian market.

•

Long-term career growth potential, with the opportunity to help establish a local subsidiary and lead a regional commercial team.

•

Opportunity to work with a globally established producer in the oleochemical industry.

•

Professional development through international collaboration and exposure to multiple industrial sectors.
