About the job

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regulatory Compliance Manager based in the United States.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Regulatory Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory readiness and ongoing compliance across a growing, multi-state transportation network. This hands-on individual contributor role will support market launches, manage regulatory obligations, and strengthen compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions and programs. Working closely with Operations, Legal, Recruiting, Product, Sales, and other teams, you will translate complex regulations into clear, actionable workflows and controls. You will help ensure driver and vehicle requirements are met, documentation remains audit-ready, and regulatory deadlines are consistently achieved. This opportunity is ideal for an organized, systems-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and wants to build scalable compliance operations that support reliable growth and access to essential services.

Accountabilities

•

Market Launch and Regulatory Readiness

•

Manage regulatory readiness for new market launches, researching state, county, and local requirements and coordinating implementation from initial assessment through go-live.

•

Identify company, driver, vehicle, training, screening, permitting, registration, and reporting obligations, translating them into clear processes, responsibilities, controls, and timelines.

•

Coordinate applications, approvals, permits, registrations, and other launch dependencies with cross-functional stakeholders.

•

Maintain launch-readiness plans, track milestones, manage dependencies, and proactively identify potential compliance risks or launch blockers.

•

Ensure required documentation and approvals are complete and organized before new markets become operational, escalating ambiguous or legally sensitive matters when appropriate.

•

Driver and Ongoing Compliance

•

Manage driver and vehicle compliance across active markets, including insurance, vehicle registration, licensing, background checks, training, screenings, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.

•

Monitor credential expirations and recurring obligations, following up with drivers and internal teams to ensure timely completion.

•

Maintain accurate, centralized, and audit-ready compliance records across markets.

•

Improve compliance trackers, alerts, workflows, controls, and systems to reduce manual effort and create scalable, repeatable processes.

•

Partner with Recruiting, Operations, Product, and other teams to implement new or changing driver compliance requirements.

•

Compliance Programs, Reporting, and Audit Readiness

•

Execute and maintain operational compliance programs in partnership with Legal and cross-functional teams.

•

Support applicable requirements related to non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), Transportation Network Company (TNC) regulations, ADA requirements, healthcare partner standards, and HIPAA awareness.

•

Manage regulatory filings, reports, registrations, renewals, permits, fees, and other jurisdiction-specific obligations.

•

Maintain a centralized regulatory calendar and documentation that is consistently prepared for audits.

•

Coordinate regulatory, customer, partner, and program-specific audits, managing documentation, deadlines, dependencies, and stakeholders.

•

Identify compliance gaps and emerging risks, recommend practical solutions, and drive corrective actions through completion.

•

Track open compliance issues, escalate higher-risk matters appropriately, and develop processes that support expansion into new markets and programs.

Requirements

•

At least 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance, transportation compliance, healthcare compliance, safety or compliance operations, regulatory program management, or another regulated industry.

•

Demonstrated experience executing hands-on compliance activities and managing programs, balancing detailed operational work with cross-functional coordination.

•

Experience working across multiple states or jurisdictions preferred; familiarity with transportation, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments is a strong plus.

•

Ability to interpret regulations and agency requirements and translate them into clear, repeatable operational processes.

•

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a consistent focus on maintaining accurate, audit-ready documentation.

•

Strong project management capabilities, including managing multiple workstreams, deadlines, dependencies, and stakeholders through completion.

•

A systems-oriented mindset, with an interest in improving workflows, controls, tracking tools, automation, and process repeatability.

•

Ability to influence and coordinate across Operations, Recruiting, Legal, Product, drivers, and external vendors without relying on direct authority.

•

Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain regulatory requirements in plain language to operational teams, internal stakeholders, and regulators.

•

A proactive, solutions-focused approach to ambiguity, with the initiative to improve processes rather than simply maintain existing ones.

•

High integrity, sound risk awareness, and the ability to pair issue identification with practical recommendations, clear ownership, and next steps.

Benefits

•

Salary: $85,000–$105,000 per year, plus equity.

•

Work arrangement: 100% remote within the United States, with minimal travel.

•

Unlimited paid time off (PTO).

•

12 paid company holidays.

•

401(k) plan with a 5% company match.

•

Competitive health and benefits plans.

•

Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

•

Employee stock.
