About the job
JoVE is the world-leading producer and provider of science video solutions with the mission to improve scientific research and education. Millions of scientists, educators and students use JoVE for their research, teaching and learning. Our institutional clients comprise over 1,000 universities, colleges, and biopharma companies, including such leaders as Harvard, MIT, Yale, and Stanford. As a rapidly growing company, with offices in the USA, UK, Australia, and India servicing clients in over 60 countries, we are seeking talented and ambitious individuals to join our company.
We are seeking a detail-oriented, business-savvy Content Reviewer to safeguard the quality, accuracy, and practical relevance of our business skills learning content. You will review written and video content across core business and professional development topics, ensuring it is accurate, up to date, well-structured, and aligned with its learning objectives. The right candidate brings broad business fluency across functions, a sharp editorial eye, and the judgment to tell whether content will work for real working professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Review written business skills content (scripts, assessments, videos, and learner guides) for factual accuracy, clarity, grammar, readability, and coherence.
- Review training videos for script-to-screen alignment, pacing, instructional clarity, and audio and visual quality.
- Verify the accuracy and currency of business concepts, frameworks, terminology, statistics, and examples across domains such as leadership, communication, management, strategy, finance, marketing, sales, operations, HR, and project management.
- Evaluate whether content is logically sequenced, achieves its stated learning objectives, and is pitched at the right level (beginner to executive) for its intended audience.
- Assess the relevance and realism of case studies, scenarios, and examples, flagging anything outdated, generic, culturally narrow, or disconnected from real workplace practice.
- Check assessments and quizzes for alignment with learning objectives, accuracy of the answer key, and fairness.
- Flag errors, inconsistencies, unsupported claims, and quality gaps using a structured review process, and track issues through to resolution.
- Give clear, constructive, actionable feedback to content creators, instructional designers, and subject matter experts.
- Help develop and maintain QC checklists, style guides, and quality benchmarks for business content.
- Stay current with business trends, workplace learning practices, and emerging topics such as AI in the workplace.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Commerce, Organizational Development, or a related field (MBA preferred), or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent professional experience.
- 4-6 years of experience in content review, editing, quality assurance, or instructional design, preferably in corporate training, L&D, or business education.
- Broad working knowledge across multiple business disciplines, with the ability to quickly judge accuracy and depth outside a single specialty.
- Excellent command of English grammar, punctuation, readability, and narrative flow.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to give direct, constructive feedback to creators and experts.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple review queues, and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with corporate learning formats such as e-learning modules, video courses, microlearning, and assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reviewing content for platforms such as Udemy, Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, or an enterprise LMS.
- Knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Kirkpatrick).
- Professional certifications such as PMP, SHRM, CPTD, or equivalent.
- Experience reviewing video content for pacing, structure, and instructional effectiveness.
- Familiarity with AI tools and an ability to review AI-assisted content for accuracy and quality.
Benefits
