About the job
ABOUT PIKA
Pika is redefining creative expression with breakthrough AI tools for video and image generation. We’re on a mission to make lightning-fast, intuitive, high-quality content creation accessible to everyone—from solo creators to teams. Join us as we build at the frontier of AI media, with a fast-moving team, a culture of ownership, and a product that empowers millions.
Remote is flexible for experienced candidates, or work with us in Palo Alto HQ.
THE ROLE
We're seeking a web-first Product Designer who will take full ownership of the pika.art web app—including Video & Image Studio, Style Creator, agent-led workflows, plugins, and community features. You’ll drive the product and design roadmap for your core areas and directly influence our growth, monetization, and launch assets. This is a hands-on, self-directed role for a senior builder who’s as comfortable in design systems and specs as in code and shipping UI.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Lead product design and direction for core pika.art web surfaces—full-screen studio, style creator, agent-led tools, plugin integrations, and community features.
- Act as both design and product owner: set priorities, write specs, break down decisions into actionable tickets, and QA every release.
- Prototype directly in React/Next.js or with AI tools (Lovable, v0, Claude, Cursor); contribute UI code and maintain design-system consistency.
- Own and iterate onboarding, paywalls, checkout, team plans, pricing, and system emails with an eye towards growth and monetization.
- Design and ship marketing and launch work: landing pages, SEO assets, and new model launch visuals.
- Collaborate daily with our Strategy & Design Lead, founders, and engineers—rapid feedback loops expected; sprint turnaround often under 24 hours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 4+ years product design experience, including ownership at an early-stage startup.
- Portfolio of shipped, web-based creative tools (editors, canvases, timelines, or similar).
- Fluid across Figma (or similar), modern web stacks, and code prototyping tools.
- Strong product instincts; able to self-direct, set priorities, and deliver outcomes beyond the ticket.
- Hands-on design-engineering: able to build prototypes and contribute front-end code (React/Next.js preferred).
- Experience running your own projects end-to-end—from brief, to spec, to handoff, to QA.
- Comfortable working without daily management or structured mentorship.
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience on mobile products (native or web app).
- Shipped creative/media or SaaS growth surfaces (checkout, onboarding, pricing, system emails).
- Marketing design: landing pages, asset creation, SEO optimization.
- Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF
- You move fast, ship daily, and own outcomes.
- You embrace real-time feedback and quick pivots.
- You sweat the details, obsess over polish, and ship what matters.
- You love turning ambiguity into clear specs and solutions.
- You want to work with strategists, engineers, and founders—in code, not just mocks.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Competitive salary and benefits, monthly creative stipends, team retreats
- Work remotely or join us in Palo Alto (3–5 days/week)
- No pay listed
