OUR CLIENT
A rapidly growing US-based B2B technology provider powering high-throughput, real-time inventory distribution and transaction platforms for the secondary ticketing industry. Headquartered in the Chicago area, the company serves over a hundred enterprise clients with aggressive plans to scale its multi-tenant platform nationwide.
JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a proactive Senior Backend Engineer to join a core product team building high-performance backend microservices that drive real-time inventory distribution, dynamic pricing, and automated order processing. In this role, you will own features end-to-end—from initial architecture and API design through deployment, automated testing, and production observability. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in C# / .NET, relational data modeling in T-SQL, and event-driven cloud systems, along with a developer-owned quality mindset for building resilient, high-throughput applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput backend services and public REST APIs on a multi-tenant cloud platform.
- Implement end-to-end observability across features using structured logging, custom metrics, and Grafana or PagerDuty alerting.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, maintaining full ownership of features through deployment and post-release support.
- Partner closely with Product Management and US-based Engineering Leadership to translate complex business requirements into technical designs.
- Drive engineering standards through active participation in peer code reviews, architecture discussions, and workflow improvements.
- Monitor service health and participate in responding to automated production alerts for time-sensitive workloads.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET 8+.
- Solid relational database experience, including T-SQL, schema design, and query performance optimization in SQL Server.
- Proven track record of owning features across the entire lifecycle, including automated testing, telemetry setup, and production support.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing backend services on a cloud platform, with Azure strongly preferred (AWS or GCP acceptable).
- Practical understanding of distributed systems concepts, including multi-tenant architectures, async messaging, and event-driven architecture (pub/sub).
- Advanced English communication skills with a strong collaborative, feedback-oriented approach to working across US time zones.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Service Bus, Application Insights, and Log Analytics (KQL) is a plus.
- Prior experience configuring Grafana dashboards and PagerDuty incident response is preferred.
- Willingness to assist with CI/CD pipelines or light frontend tasks as needed is a plus.
- Interest in high-frequency data processing, marketplace logic, or exploring modern AI tooling for engineering automation is preferred.
