About the job

DeepHealth is seeking a hands-on Healthcare Migration Engineer to join our technical team. In this role, you'll work with complex data from legacy healthcare systems, developing solutions to extract, clean, transform, and migrate information into our Radiology Information System (RIS).  This position combines advanced Microsoft SQL Server development with C# Windows Forms application development. You'll work with unfamiliar datasets, troubleshoot data inconsistencies, and maintain and enhance an internally developed migration toolkit.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, can work independently, and is comfortable managing multiple projects while collaborating with internal teams and customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support data migration projects.
  • Analyze legacy datasets, identify data relationships, and develop solutions to extract, clean, transform, and reconcile information.
  • Maintain and enhance our internally developed C# Windows Forms migration application, including building new utilities and improving existing functionality.
  • Develop C# applications and tools that interact with Microsoft SQL Server to automate data manipulation, file processing, and validation.
  • Troubleshoot migration challenges, including inconsistent data, database compatibility issues, and conversion errors.
  • Work with large datasets containing patient demographics, appointments, clinical records, radiology reports, and related information.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical colleagues, and customers to understand requirements and deliver accurate, reliable migrations.
  • Manage multiple migration projects while maintaining data integrity and documenting technical solutions.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and requirements of the position described above.  Other functions may be assigned and management retains the right to add or change duties at any time.

Qualifications, Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant hands-on development, plus data and file manipulation experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and advanced T-SQL development.
  • Proficiency with MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), T/SQL, stored procedures, complex queries, and relational database structures.
  • Strong C# development experience, specifically building or maintaining Windows Forms (WinForms) desktop applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and ADO.NET for database connectivity.
  • Practical experience manipulating, transforming, cleaning, and validating complex datasets.
  • Ability to understand and enhance existing applications and troubleshoot unfamiliar database environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently solve technical problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate directly with technical teams and customers.
  • Experience with data migration, legacy system conversions, or complex data transformation projects.
  • Healthcare IT experience, particularly with RIS, PACS, EHR, or other clinical information systems.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7 or DICOM.
  • Experience working with large datasets, document processing, or file conversions.

Quality Standards

  • Communicates, cooperates, and consistently functions professionally and harmoniously with all levels of supervision, co-workers, visitors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrates initiative, personal awareness, professionalism and integrity, and exercises confidentiality in all areas of performance.
  • Follows all local, regional and country laws concerning employment.
  • Follows all DeepHealth policies and procedures.
  • Follows data privacy, compliance, safety and confidentiality standards at all times.
  • Practices universal safety precautions.
  • Promotes good public relations on the phone and in person.
  • Adapts and is willing to learn new tasks, methods, and systems.
  • Reports to work regularly as scheduled; consistently punctual with respect to working hours, meal and rest breaks, and maintains satisfactory personal attendance in accordance with DeepHealth guidelines.
