About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Grant Writer based remotely in Brazil.
We are looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented Grant Writer to help nonprofit organizations identify and secure funding opportunities that advance their missions. You will lead grant research, application writing, and quality reviews, transforming complex program information into compelling funding proposals. Working closely with approximately 25–30 nonprofit partners at a time, you will develop a strong understanding of their goals, activities, and impact. You will also use AI-assisted tools to improve research and drafting efficiency while ensuring accuracy, relevance, and a human-centered approach. This role combines independent ownership with close partner collaboration in a fast-growing, technology-driven social impact environment. Your work will directly help mission-led organizations access funding and expand their positive impact.
Accountabilities
You will manage grant research and writing activities from opportunity identification through final review, ensuring that nonprofit partners receive accurate, persuasive, and funder-ready materials. Your responsibilities will include:
•
Research, identify, evaluate, and curate grant opportunities aligned with each nonprofit's mission, programs, eligibility, and funding requirements.
•
Draft compelling letters of inquiry (LOIs), grant applications, and supporting narratives tailored to individual funders.
•
Translate complex program information and initial partner context into clear, specific, and persuasive funding proposals.
•
Use AI tools to support research, drafting, editing, and iteration while maintaining accuracy, appropriate tone, and sound human judgment.
•
Review and refine grant materials to ensure they are complete, compelling, accurate, and ready for submission.
•
Manage delivery across approximately 25–30 nonprofit partner relationships, balancing deadlines, quality, and individual requirements.
•
Build a detailed understanding of each partner's objectives, programs, funding needs, and impact.
•
Communicate progress, expectations, potential risks, and delivery concerns proactively.
•
Identify opportunities to strengthen grant support workflows, improve consistency, and make processes more scalable without compromising quality.
•
Ensure that funding opportunities and application materials are clearly explained and appropriately tailored to each organization's needs.
Requirements
The ideal candidate has substantial grant writing experience and a strong understanding of nonprofit funding landscapes. You should be able to turn incomplete or complex information into high-quality proposals while managing multiple priorities and maintaining strong partner relationships. The following qualifications and skills are expected:
•
At least 5 years of grant writing experience, ideally supporting nonprofits, charities, or mission-driven organizations.
•
Strong understanding of funding opportunities, eligibility requirements, funder priorities, and the characteristics of competitive grant proposals.
•
Proven ability to develop specific, persuasive, and funder-ready narratives from rough or complex source information.
•
Confidence using AI tools for research, drafting, editing, and quality assurance, with a clear understanding of when human review and judgment are essential.
•
Excellent attention to detail, particularly regarding deadlines, geographic eligibility, funding restrictions, and application requirements.
•
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple partner relationships and concurrent deadlines.
•
Clear, proactive communication skills and a partner-first approach combining empathy, clarity, and sound judgment.
•
Ability to take ownership, identify potential blockers early, and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
•
Process-oriented mindset, with an interest in building structured workflows and continuously improving how work gets done.
Nice to have
•
A degree from a recognized university or equivalent evidence of strong analytical thinking.
•
Experience or knowledge in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or corporate social impact.
Benefits
•
Fully remote contract position with a global working environment.
•
Opportunity to support nonprofit organizations and contribute to meaningful social impact.
•
Exposure to AI-assisted research and writing tools and opportunities to help improve innovative workflows.
•
Professional growth within a fast-growing, technology-driven organization.
•
Opportunity to work with a diverse international team representing more than 20 nationalities across five continents.
