About the job

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global Research & Insights Leader based in the United States.

The Global Research & Insights Leader will drive the strategy, quality, and market impact of a global technology research and insights practice. This senior leadership role combines hands-on research and thought leadership with team management, publishing excellence, and client-facing engagement. You will translate complex technology market trends, provider capabilities, and industry benchmarks into actionable insights that support executive decision-making. Working closely with consulting, sales, marketing, and senior leadership teams, you will ensure research directly contributes to business development and client success. You will lead a distributed team across the United States and India while maintaining rigorous standards of independence, accuracy, and objectivity. This is an opportunity to shape the research agenda, strengthen market visibility, and build a high-performing insights function within a lean, entrepreneurial, and internationally connected environment.

Accountabilities

  • Research Strategy and Operations: Lead the end-to-end research agenda, establishing priorities, managing the research calendar, and overseeing the timely delivery of flagship research products, industry reports, market insights, and best-practice publications.
  • Research Quality and Publishing: Own the publication process from initial drafts to final release, including editing, fact-checking, peer review, quality assurance, and approval. Contribute original analysis, writing, and news coverage to strengthen the research portfolio.
  • Industry and Analyst Relations: Engage with technology and IT services providers to understand their capabilities, attend industry briefings and analyst events, and represent the research practice at industry conferences and company events. Participate in client and prospect discussions as a subject-matter expert.
  • Commercial Enablement: Translate research findings into practical sales resources, including executive briefs, presentation materials, talking points, and FAQs. Train regional sales teams to communicate research insights effectively and demonstrate their relevance to buyers.
  • Consulting and Client Support: Equip consulting teams with timely access to research, benchmarks, and market intelligence for proposals and client engagements. Establish an efficient process for managing research requests and incorporate relevant engagement learnings into future research, where permitted.
  • Global Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of analysts across US and India time zones. Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, foster collaboration, and support professional growth.
  • Methodology and Research Excellence: Maintain consistent research methodologies, provider evaluation criteria, data collection practices, and quality standards. Continuously improve research processes while safeguarding analytical independence from commercial relationships.
  • Tools, Data, and Innovation: Manage research tools and data resources, streamline provider briefings and surveys, and identify responsible opportunities to use AI to improve research efficiency, productivity, and insight generation.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 15–20 years of experience in technology research, industry analysis, benchmarking, or research-led consulting, with a strong understanding of technology markets and IT or business services providers.
  • Research and Publishing Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience developing, producing, and publishing high-quality research, ideally covering technology services, IT services providers, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Proven experience leading teams, managing complex research initiatives, or coordinating projects involving multiple contributors. Ability to motivate and develop analysts while building strong working relationships with consulting, sales, marketing, and executive stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of provider capabilities, industry trends, market benchmarks, and the business challenges facing technology buyers. Experience with an industry analyst firm, sourcing advisory organization, or consulting research team is highly desirable.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to turn research into actionable business insights that support sales enablement, business development, client conversations, and consulting engagements. Previous experience working directly with commercial teams is an advantage.
  • Communication and Thought Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to produce clear, compelling research and confidently present findings to senior executives, clients, and industry audiences.
  • Organization and Execution: Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives, manage resources, and consistently meet deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Global Mindset: Comfortable working across countries, cultures, and time zones, with the flexibility to collaborate effectively with a geographically distributed team.
  • Analytical Judgment and Integrity: Strong critical-thinking skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to objective, evidence-based research and independent provider evaluations.

Benefits

  • Entrepreneurial Environment: The opportunity to lead initiatives, shape the research function, and contribute directly to organizational growth and strategic priorities.
  • International Exposure: Opportunities to work with global clients, including major multinational organizations, and collaborate with professionals across multiple markets.
  • Professional Development: Access to training, mentoring, and learning opportunities focused on evolving business practices, technology markets, and industry requirements.
  • Career Growth: Dedicated career development opportunities, including potential funding for industry certifications and skills development programs.
  • Collaborative Culture: The opportunity to work alongside an international team of industry specialists in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
  • Leadership Opportunities: Scope to influence research strategy, develop global talent, and establish new initiatives that advance both personal and organizational objectives.
  • Work Location: The role is based in the United States, with Dallas identified as the preferred location and other US locations considered.
  • Employment Type: Full-time, executive-level position.
