Field Application Engineer – Mobile, Shenzhen-based
We're looking for a Field Application Engineer to be the technical partner of our business development team in China. You'll visit customers together with BD, answer their technical questions, and support projects on-site from kickoff to launch. Our engineering team in Europe will back you up.
This is not a desk-based support role. You'll start by learning our products alongside one customer project. Over time
you'll become the person who handles most technical questions locally across several similar projects running in parallel, so customers get fast answers in their own time zone.
This role based in Shenzhen, China with approximately 75% of working time spent at customer sites and frequent business travel required.
What you'll do
- Join customer meetings and site visits with the Business Development team. Answer technical questions on the spot and help customers evaluate, integrate, and adopt Bragi technology.
- Provide on-site support from project kickoff, working hands-on with customers' engineering teams to resolve most integration issues locally.
- Apply knowledge and experience gained from one project to future projects. As multiple similar customer projects run in parallel, independently handle most technical questions and issues.
- For more complex issues, reproduce and document them clearly before escalating to our engineering team in Europe. Follow up until a solution is provided to the customer.
- Use AI tools to document customer questions, solutions, integration notes, and best practices in a searchable knowledge base. The goal is to make each new project more efficient by building on
previous experience.
- Stay up to date with Bragi's products, SDKs, and the customer platforms we work with.
- Provide technical guidance on mobile SDK and app integration, Bluetooth connectivity, audio features, and device behavior.
- Manage customer samples, collect technical feedback, and share relevant insights with internal teams.
- Review customer-facing technical documentation, including integration guides, specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts, as needed.
What we're looking for
Technical
- Experience in field application engineering, technical support, customer engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Strong experience with mobile app development or mobile SDK integration.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis and technical issue escalation.
Working style
- You quickly pick up new products and technologies and enjoy solving technical challenges.
- You're comfortable interacting with customers, including senior stakeholders and non-technical audiences, and can explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- This role requires spending approximately 75% of working time at customer sites, providing hands-on technical support and troubleshooting.
- Frequent business travel is a mandatory requirement of this role, primarily within Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and the Greater Bay Area, with occasional travel to other regions based on business needs.
- You take ownership of problems from start to finish, respond effectively to urgent issues, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- You already use AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, DeepSeek, or Copilot in your work, or you're eager to start incorporating them into your daily workflow.
Nice to Have
- Native-level Chinese and working proficiency in English.
- Knowledge of Bluetooth, BLE, audio technologies, hearables, wearables, or connected consumer devices.
- Experience with embedded systems or firmware integration.
- Experience with chipset platforms such as Jieli, Qualcomm, and Bluetrum.
- Experience with hardware debugging, protocol analyzers, or simulation tools.
- Background in consumer electronics, audio, semiconductors, or Shenzhen's hardware supply chain ecosystem.
What we offer
- Work directly with well-known audio brands on projects targeting more than 50 million users within 12 months.
- A role close to the business. Work side by side with the BD team and see the direct impact of your contributions on customer success.
- Close collaboration with our engineering team in Europe, along with access to a Learning & Development program.
- Flexible Learning & Development program and working hours and the option to work from home on days without customer visits.
- Open 4 months
- No pay listed
