About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Emulation Engineer based in India.
Join a high-impact engineering team focused on advancing system-on-chip (SoC) and intellectual property (IP) development through efficient hardware emulation and verification. In this role, you will build, test, and debug emulation models that accelerate RTL development and support pre-silicon verification, post-silicon validation, and software development. You will work with advanced emulation platforms and develop automation tools that improve verification efficiency, model usability, and overall engineering productivity. Collaborating closely with design, validation, and software teams, you will help resolve complex technical issues and strengthen system-level bring-up processes. Your expertise will contribute to the reliability and quality of next-generation silicon solutions. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer to apply strong RTL debugging and programming skills in a technically challenging, collaborative environment. The position is fully remote within India, with occasional site visits as required by business needs.
Accountabilities
•
Build emulation models from RTL designs using synthesis, partitioning, and routing tools.
•
Develop, integrate, test, and debug hardware and software components associated with simulation and emulation models.
•
Create and optimize hybrid emulation environments and develop directed tests to support effective hardware verification.
•
Collaborate with verification teams to improve pre-silicon verification methodologies, test suites, and emulation efficiency.
•
Develop automation tools, scripts, and workflows to streamline emulation setup, execution, and utilization.
•
Debug failing RTL tests, investigate model issues, and improve the usability and reliability of emulation platforms.
•
Support SoC and IP bring-up activities, perform root-cause analysis, and resolve emulator environment issues in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
•
Investigate reset and boot-related issues at the SoC level to ensure reliable system initialization and operation.
•
Contribute to continuous improvements in emulation flows, debugging methodologies, and engineering productivity.
Requirements
•
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
•
6–12 years of relevant professional experience in hardware emulation, RTL development, verification, or related engineering activities.
•
Demonstrated experience building and debugging emulation models.
•
Hands-on experience with industry-standard emulation platforms such as ZeBu, Veloce, or Palladium.
•
Strong RTL debugging skills, preferably with Verilog.
•
Experience debugging reset and boot sequences in SoC-level designs.
•
Programming and scripting proficiency in Python, C/C++, Perspec, and Verilog.
•
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
•
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and identify root causes.
•
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across design, verification, validation, and software engineering teams.
•
Preferred qualifications: Familiarity with Synopsys tools and emulation platforms such as ZeBu or HAPS; knowledge of Intel CPU or x86 architecture; and exposure to system-level, emulation-based verification and virtual platforms.
•
Work arrangement: Fully remote within India. Candidates must reside and work in India, with occasional visits to company sites potentially required based on business needs.
Benefits
•
Employment type: Full-time position for an experienced engineering professional.
•
Remote flexibility: Home-based work within India, with occasional on-site attendance depending on business requirements.
•
Technical development: Opportunity to work with advanced emulation platforms, RTL designs, and SoC/IP verification environments.
•
Engineering impact: Contribute to improving verification efficiency and the reliability of next-generation silicon products.
•
Collaborative environment: Work alongside multidisciplinary teams across hardware design, verification, validation, and software development.
•
Compensation and additional benefits: Salary, healthcare coverage, bonuses, and other benefits were not specified in the provided job description.
