About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director Product Manager – Banking based in the United States.
The Director Product Manager will shape product strategy and drive the evolution of innovative lending solutions that help financial institutions make better-informed credit decisions. As part of a global Lending Solutions Product Management team, you will translate strategic priorities into actionable product outcomes that address customer needs and market opportunities. You will lead complex product initiatives, bringing clarity to ambiguous challenges and guiding cross-functional teams toward measurable results. The role requires exceptional product judgment, strong stakeholder influence, and the ability to establish high standards for modern product management practices. •
Partner with Product Strategy to translate strategic direction into actionable product outcomes, priorities, and delivery plans for complex product areas.
•
Define product vision, objectives, and priorities aligned with business goals, customer requirements, and market opportunities.
•
Lead product discovery and decision-making, framing complex problems, evaluating potential solutions, and driving evidence-based decisions in ambiguous or evolving situations.
•
Establish high standards for product management through hands-on execution, modeling effective discovery, prioritization, product storytelling, and outcome definition.
•
Drive cross-functional alignment and execution by collaborating independently with Engineering, Design, Data, Commercial, Legal, and Operations teams.
•
Improve product management practices by identifying opportunities to introduce more effective approaches, tools, and operating standards.
•
Build support for organizational change through clear reasoning, demonstrated results, credibility, and stakeholder influence.
•
Communicate product strategy, progress, risks, decisions, and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment and informed leadership engagement.
•
Contribute to the development of lending solutions that create measurable value across customer onboarding, loan origination, and portfolio monitoring.
•
Support the integration of differentiated data, analytics, and research into software experiences that improve product quality, usability, and customer outcomes.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is an experienced product leader with strong strategic judgment, a track record of influencing complex initiatives, and an understanding of banking and lending processes. The following qualifications and capabilities are expected:
•
Bachelor's degree in Business, Banking, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field.
•
Advanced degree, such as an MBA or equivalent, preferred.
•
Demonstrated ability to own complex product challenges and deliver meaningful outcomes through influence rather than formal authority.
•
Proven experience defining product direction, aligning cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering results in complex or changing environments.
•
Exceptional product judgment and the ability to navigate ambiguity, identify the right problems, make informed tradeoffs, and move teams toward action.
•
Strong practical product management skills, including discovery, prioritization, strategic storytelling, decision-making, and outcome definition.
•
Experience introducing and improving product management approaches, tools, and operating practices.
•
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate product vision, customer value, and strategic tradeoffs to audiences at all organizational levels.
•
Understanding of credit risk concepts and lending decision processes.
•
Knowledge of how lenders assess borrower risk, structure credit decisions, and manage loan portfolios is preferred.
•
Interest in artificial intelligence and willingness to develop knowledge of responsible AI practices, including ethical use and risk management.
•
Preferred experience with AI concepts and hands-on use of AI tools to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, and solve business challenges.
•
