The Role
JoVE is seeking a Content Creator to write scripts for short science education videos in our K3–K5 content line. An ideal candidate writes with the finished video in mind and can turn a science concept into a script, storyboard and production brief that vendors can work from directly.
Responsibilities
- Follow our guidelines for script generation to produce scientifically accurate, educational, and engaging lessons.
- Create accompanying storyboards to visualize scientific concepts in an easy to understand manner for undergraduate students.
- Generate documents using our guidelines to provide instructions to media professionals such as voice talent, video editors, and animators.
- Review content (scripts, storyboards, and animation rough-cuts) and provide feedback based on your knowledge and expertise
Requirements
- A Master’s in Life Sciences.
- 2–3 years of experience writing scripts for K12 videos.
- Ability to picture how each line will look on screen, and to know when a visual should carry the explanation instead of words.
- Eagerness to convey science using a creative approach.
- Enthusiasm to learn how to communicate scientific concepts visually.
- Strong written communication skills.
Benefits
- A competitive compensation package.
- You will make a direct impact in accelerating science research and in improving student learning in science education.
