About the job
About the company
Our client is a law firm.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of lender-side financing matters from first engagement through funding, serving as the main legal contact for clients. The position also involves mentoring and reviewing the work of less experienced lawyers, and suits an independent, hands-on attorney.
What you'll do
- Lead lender-side financing matters end to end, from initial term discussions through closing.
- Review and correct the drafting and analysis of junior attorneys working on live files.
- Prepare and negotiate loan documentation for large financings, including construction and mezzanine structures.
- Serve as the day-to-day advisor to lender clients, offering practical and inventive solutions.
- Partner with firm leadership and paralegal colleagues in a quick-moving, supportive setting.
- Handle matters for lenders in multiple states, often involving specialized property types.
Requirements

- Proven ability to carry a financing from start to finish without close oversight and to guide junior lawyers.
- Track record drafting and negotiating sophisticated loan agreements.
- Background advising non-bank, privately funded lenders.
- Confidence negotiating opposite counsel from large national law firms.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive in.
- Willingness to share a summary list of past transactions.
- An entrepreneurial, team-first attitude.
Bonus points
- Prior experience at a boutique or mid-sized firm focused on real estate.
- Exposure to construction, mezzanine or workout transactions.
