About the job

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Commercial & Corporate Paralegal based in Canada.

As a Commercial & Corporate Paralegal, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's commercial, corporate, and legal operations across North America. You will manage a broad range of business agreements, support contract negotiations, and help ensure legal documentation and processes remain accurate, organized, and compliant. Working closely with internal departments and external legal counsel, you will provide practical legal support across commercial transactions, corporate matters, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with teams across Sales, Finance, HR, and Operations, contributing to efficient business operations and informed decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing international organization operating in the power and electrical infrastructure sector. You will benefit from a remote-first environment, direct exposure to business leadership, and the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful legal responsibilities as the organization continues to expand.

Accountabilities

  • Manage the preparation, review, and administration of a wide range of commercial agreements and business contracts, including Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Master Services Agreements (MSAs), customer agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Support contract negotiations, revisions, and amendments in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external legal advisors.
  • Provide legal research and administrative support across corporate, commercial, employment, and compliance-related matters.
  • Maintain and organize corporate records, contractual documentation, legal files, and other important business documents, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations, to address day-to-day legal questions and contractual requirements.
  • Help streamline contract management processes and maintain consistent documentation practices across the organization.
  • Support the coordination of legal matters with external counsel, ensuring timely communication, follow-ups, and documentation.
  • Contribute to the organization's broader legal and compliance operations by identifying documentation gaps and supporting process improvements.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a commercial legal support role, such as Paralegal, Legal Assistant, Contracts Specialist, or Contracts Administrator.
  • Hands-on experience reviewing, preparing, and managing commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, customer agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Good understanding of commercial contract principles, corporate legal processes, and general business documentation requirements.
  • Conversational Mandarin Chinese proficiency, with the ability to communicate comfortably with Mandarin-speaking colleagues and business contacts.
  • Must be currently based in Canada.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external legal professionals.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach, combined with sound judgment and a high level of professionalism.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience supporting legal or contractual matters within a multinational or cross-border organization.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and U.S. commercial contracting practices.
  • Experience working in B2B technology, equipment, manufacturing, power infrastructure, or industrial sectors.
  • Exposure to employment law, HR-related legal matters, or broader corporate compliance activities.

Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary ranging from CAD 80,000 to CAD 100,000 , depending on experience.
  • Quarterly performance-based bonus program.
  • Fully remote, remote-first working environment for candidates based in Canada.
  • Full-time position offering flexibility and professional autonomy.
  • Opportunity to take ownership of legal and contractual responsibilities and contribute directly to business performance.
  • Direct collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams across North America.
  • Opportunity to grow professionally within a fast-growing international organization.
  • Exposure to diverse commercial, corporate, and cross-border legal matters.
  • Inclusive workplace committed to diversity and equal employment opportunities.
