About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a College Admissions Counselor based in the United States.
We are seeking an experienced College Admissions Counselor to guide students and families through every stage of the U.S. college admissions journey. In this role, you will manage your own student caseload, developing personalized academic and extracurricular strategies that strengthen each student's application profile. You will advise on university and major selection, with a particular focus on UC, CSU, and other selective institutions. From long-term planning to final application submissions, you will provide structured coaching, strategic insights, and ongoing accountability. You will also work closely with parents, offering clear guidance and regular progress updates throughout the process. This fully remote, full-time opportunity is ideal for an admissions professional who combines deep knowledge of U.S. higher education with a student-centered approach.
Accountabilities
You will independently oversee students' admissions journeys, helping them build competitive profiles and submit compelling applications to universities that align with their goals. Key responsibilities include:
•
Manage an individual caseload of students throughout the complete U.S. college admissions process, from early academic planning to final application submission.
•
Develop tailored academic and extracurricular plans based on students' interests, intended majors, strengths, and university aspirations.
•
Advise students on university lists and major selection, taking into account admissions requirements, institutional selectivity, and individual academic profiles.
•
Design application strategies for the University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), and other selective U.S. universities.
•
Guide students through UC Personal Insight Questions (PIQs), Common App applications, personal statements, and supplemental essays and materials.
•
Conduct regular coaching sessions to monitor progress, identify development areas, establish milestones, and maintain accountability.
•
Lead meetings with parents and families, providing admissions advice, progress updates, and strategic recommendations.
•
Deliver personalized feedback through Zoom sessions and recorded video reviews to support students throughout the application process.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings substantial experience in U.S. college admissions counseling, strong knowledge of selective university admissions, and the ability to manage multiple students independently. Required qualifications include:
•
At least 5 years of experience in college admissions counseling, admissions coaching, educational consulting, or student admissions mentoring.
•
Proven ability to independently guide students through the full U.S. college admissions process, including academic and extracurricular planning, university selection, and final application submission.
•
Strong knowledge of UC and CSU admissions systems, including application requirements, selection criteria, and admissions strategies.
•
Practical experience coaching students on UC Personal Insight Questions (PIQs) and developing effective application positioning strategies.
•
Familiarity with admissions expectations and selection criteria at Top 100 U.S. universities.
•
Experience with academic and extracurricular planning, intended major selection, university lists, and Common App applications.
•
Ability to manage multiple students simultaneously while coordinating their application timelines, milestones, and progress.
•
Experience advising students and communicating directly with parents and families.
•
Background as an Independent Educational Consultant (IEC) or Public High School College Counselor is strongly preferred.
•
Comfortable using Zoom, Google Drive, Slack, Calendly, Loom, and AI-powered tools to support coaching, communication, and workflow management.
•
Advanced English proficiency (C1 or higher).
•
Availability to work full-time on a schedule aligned with Eastern Time (EST).
Benefits
•
Annual base salary of $80,000–$85,000.
•
Fully remote work arrangement, with flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States.
•
Paid time off (PTO).
•
Paid U.S. public holidays.
•
Full-time position with an ASAP start date.
