About the job
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Build & Release Support Engineer | CI/CD based in Brazil.
As a Build & Release Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of build, release, and continuous integration and delivery systems used by a global engineering organization. You will provide hands-on, developer-facing technical support, helping engineers resolve build failures, pipeline issues, dependency conflicts, and deployment challenges. Working with modern technologies and tools, you will investigate complex technical problems, improve troubleshooting processes, and ensure smooth software delivery across distributed teams. Your expertise will help minimize disruptions, accelerate development cycles, and strengthen the reliability of essential engineering infrastructure. This fully remote opportunity offers a collaborative, fast-paced environment where continuous learning, technical ownership, and meaningful impact are central to success.
Accountabilities
- Provide frontline technical support through Slack and ticketing systems, managing multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining high-quality responses and follow-ups.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot build failures, broken CI/CD pipelines, dependency conflicts, configuration errors, packaging issues, and artifact management problems.
- Investigate technical issues involving Maven, Java build systems, Docker, Jenkins, Artifactory, Spinnaker, and related build and release technologies.
- Manage incidents by identifying root causes, coordinating investigations, communicating progress clearly, and guiding developers toward effective resolutions.
- Prepare thorough escalations by collecting relevant logs, reproduction steps, build metadata, severity assessments, and technical context to minimize delays for downstream engineering teams.
- Maintain and improve technical documentation, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and reusable problem-solution resources to reduce recurring issues and support developer self-service.
- Monitor support performance against service-level agreements (SLAs), customer satisfaction indicators, ticket quality standards, and issue classification requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify recurring problems, improve tooling reliability, and maintain efficient software delivery workflows.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in Build and Release Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or software development, with practical experience supporting CI/CD environments.
- Strong proficiency with Git and CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI, alongside a solid understanding of build and release engineering principles and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience with Maven or Gradle, Java build tooling, artifact repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus, and deployment orchestration tools such as Spinnaker or equivalent solutions.
- Strong Linux and Unix command-line skills, with scripting experience in Python and/or Bash to support troubleshooting and automation.
- Practical knowledge of container technologies, particularly Docker, with familiarity with Kubernetes considered an advantage.
- A sound understanding of software supply chain workflows, dependency management, build pipelines, artifact packaging, and release processes.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to investigate complex issues independently, manage competing priorities, and handle frequent context switching.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, particularly when supporting developers, documenting solutions, managing incidents, and preparing actionable technical escalations.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, as well as previous SRE experience, is an asset.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to deliver reliable technical support in a high-visibility, fast-paced environment.
Benefits
- Fully remote working arrangement, with the flexibility to work from an eligible location in Brazil.
- Exposure to large-scale engineering environments and mission-critical developer platforms supporting globally distributed teams.
- Opportunities for continuous learning, technical specialization, and rapid professional development in CI/CD, build engineering, and software delivery.
- Hands-on experience solving complex technical challenges using modern development, deployment, and artifact management technologies.
- A remote-first, trust-based working culture that values autonomy, collaboration, diversity, and respect for employees' time.
- Opportunities to collaborate with international teams and gain exposure to different engineering environments and technical systems.
- Meaningful work that directly improves developer productivity, software delivery speed, and the reliability of essential engineering services.
