BRAND DESIGNER (FLEX)
If you’re a visual expert who loves evolving and protecting brand systems while hands-on crafting the details, you’ll find a great fit here. This is a Flex position with variable hours, and you'll work as needed based on business needs. Occasional early, late, or event-based support may be required.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Position type: Variable hours (Flex), part-time or as needed based on project requirements
- Typical work hours: Schedule is flexible, with work performed primarily during standard business hours (Monday–Friday) but may require early mornings, late evenings, or occasional event-based support
- Days of week: Monday through Friday, with possibility of weekend or off-hours support based on business needs
- Overtime: Overtime is not regularly expected, but may be required during peak production cycles or for special projects
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Get ready to balance big-picture design system thinking with rolling up your sleeves on every detail that keeps the Client’s visual world consistent and sharp. In this role, you’ll shape brand guidelines, create fresh toolkits for social and campaign content, and build modular assets that empower teams to work independently and on-brand.
BRAND SYSTEMS & VISUAL IDENTITY
- Keep building and maintaining the Client’s Brand Guidelines to keep everything aligned
- Craft clear visual usage guides, do’s and don’ts reference docs, and email or web module standards that turn brand rules into real-world instructions for internal teams and outside agencies
SOCIAL & CAMPAIGN ASSET VI
- Develop and produce VI toolkits for static graphics, carousel stories, data visualizations, and short-form motion assets that work across LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and X
- Design style frames, cover art, lower thirds, on-screen typography, digital banners, and event visuals for the Client’s flagship series, programs, and sub-brands
- Partner with social strategists and writers to test and refine visual approaches, improve hierarchy and layouts, and update assets based on channel performance
CONTENT PACKAGING & SCALABLE TOOLKITS
- Build and update reusable Figma component libraries, Adobe Creative Cloud kits, and Google Slides or Docs templates that let cross-functional partners put together assets on their own
- Turn research, video series, and product launches into multi-format asset kits for social, email, web, and executive presentations
- Standardize file naming, export specs, aspect ratios, and asset repositories so everything moves smoothly between studio teams and agency partners
WHAT TO EXPECT DAY-TO-DAY
- This position is non-exempt and paid hourly
- The schedule is flexible
- You'll spend most of your day designing at your computer—using a keyboard and mouse for extended periods, reviewing visual assets, and sometimes joining meetings or production sessions
- You’ll typically work in an office or remotely, teaming up through digital tools
- Deadlines may be tight, and priorities may shift depending on campaigns and production needs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear
- Must occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- May involve occasional bending or reaching to access supplies or equipment
- No driving is typically required
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Occasional travel (<10%)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee will routinely operate typical business office equipment, including computer hardware
- Work may be performed in an office setting or remotely
- No extreme temperatures or outdoor work expected
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
COMPETENCIES
- Advanced skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects) as well as Google Slides and Docs
- A sharp eye for typographic hierarchy, color balance, iconography, and matching photography with UI or spot illustration
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- 7 to 10 years of experience in brand design, visual identity systems, or integrated design at a creative agency or in-house brand studio
- A portfolio showing brand identity guidelines, typography and grid systems, platform-native social assets (static and motion), and modular template toolkits
