AI Engineer (temporary contract)

Experience level: mid senior level.

About You

You are an AI Engineer with real production experience building on Anthropic’s Claude tools, and you enjoy turning that expertise into something other engineers can actually use. You will join our Claude Readiness Program as the certified specialist who works alongside a client’s engineering teams while they adopt the Claude apps, Claude Code, Claude Cowork and the Claude API.

You communicate clearly in writing, you are dependable on turnaround, and you are comfortable being the person engineers at very different levels come to with their hardest questions.

• Note: This position is offered under a 2-month contractor framework, with the possibility of extension.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.

• Proven hands-on experience building real production systems with the Claude API and Claude Code , beyond demos or proofs of concept.

• Solid working knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and agent patterns , including tools and subagents.

• Ability to read and debug production-style code in at least one enterprise stack such as Java on the backend or React on the frontend .

• Hands-on experience with at least one model cloud, either Amazon Bedrock or Google Cloud Vertex AI .

• Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to engineers at different experience levels, without talking down to them.

• Strong written and asynchronous communication skills, since most support happens through a shared channel.

• Dependable turnaround and ownership of response times in a live support channel.

• Ability to give direct, useful feedback on code and on technical assessments.

• Advanced English fluency , required to run live technical sessions and support engineers in writing with US-based teams.

Nice to haves

• Current Anthropic Claude certification or an AWS or Google Cloud certification.

• Hands-on experience with both Bedrock and Vertex AI.

• Prompt design and evaluation experience.

• Experience loading content into an LMS, ideally a custom one, with knowledge of SCORM or xAPI.

• Experience working with synthetic or sensitive data under real security rules.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities

• Design and run four technical deep-dive sessions on Claude, Claude Code, the Claude API, MCP and agents, built around the client’s real work.

• Answer engineers’ technical questions in the shared question-and-answer channel within the same or next business day.

• Host weekly office hours for live walkthroughs and hands-on help.

• Score the hands-on readiness assessment against the rubric and feed the results into each participant’s remediation plan.

• Review the learning paths and the assessment so they match the tasks engineers actually perform in their day-to-day work.

• Document answers, code snippets and session recordings in the shared knowledge base.

• Production experience with the Claude API and Claude Code .

• Working knowledge of MCP and agent patterns , including tools and subagents.

• Ability to read and debug production-style code in Java or React .

• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock or Google Cloud Vertex AI .

• Advanced Conversational English fluency.
